Roughly 2,000 years ago, a man whose name has endured unto the present said something that English translates as "Give and it shall be given to you; pressed down, shaken together, and running over". Can it be true that giving something could produce a return that is far greater than what was given? Could this be the secret to personal and national prosperity? Could this be a true statement?
If it is true, do we dare live it? We seem to be living in a largely "what's in it for me" society. The mentality is "I must get it before someone else does". That assumes that there is only so much. Consider the wealth earth contains. How many resources are yet untapped?
Why don't we change our mentality towards limitlessness? What keeps a person or group from tapping into the abundance that surrounds them, or that is IN them? What blocks us? What hinders us? What is snagging us?
Is the opposite also true? "Take and it shall be taken from you."
Also, what sort of things could be given that would produce a greater return on the investment? A farmer plants (gives) one seed of corn and it produces multiple seeds. Does this also work for things like money? Love?
Maybe the secret to unlock a person's or nation's untapped resources is wrapped up in this simple, yet profound phrase, "Give and it shall be given..."
